The Ontario District is proud to announce another full day of quartetting for quartet wannabe’s to experienced competitive singers. This year’s OQE promises a new format that will make the event even more attractive to experienced quartet singers.
Here’s a chance to learn some great songs and sing your own part – all by yourself – with 3 others. You might even find the voices for your next quartet. If you’re already in a quartet, this is a perfect opportunity to add 8 new arrangements to your repertoire!
This year, two separate streams of singers will be created at the OQE for the afternoon and evening program. The morning program will be similar to previous years where all singers rotate through stations. After lunch, however, the singers will be separated into a quartet stream and an octet stream, according to the level of readiness of the singers for quartet singing. The octet singers will continue to receive coaching with the OQE songs for the afternoon, and in the evening will be randomly assigned to sing alongside one of the quartets for an octet competition. The quartet stream will progress as in previous years for the afternoon, and will compete in randomly assigned quartets for the evening quartet contest. All singers will join as a chorus for the evening show.
