Aces of Harmony Charter member passes away

It is with great sadness that the Aces of Harmony in Peterborough announces the passing of its longest-serving member, tenor Ken Buttery.  Ken passed away June 10th at the age of 83.

Not only was he a wonderful colleague and mentor, he had an ‘ear’ like no one else and could quickly detect what was needed to make those wonderful Barbershop chords ring.  His quiet demeanor and subtle sense of humour was inviting during his regular attendance  to more than 50 years of Chapter meetings. Ken welcomed our chorus and a quartet during a couple of recent visits to the Palliative Care unit at Peterborough’s hospital; he sang along and even added stage presence to the songs.  What a wonderful human being and friend to the Aces of Harmony, along with his Oshawa buddies who, with the Four-in-Accord quartet, can be seen here reuniting May 12th, 2014.
