Joe Barbershop Chorus

The Joe Barbershop Chorus is open to any barbershopper attending convention who wishes to sing in it. The chorus meets on Saturday morning of convention to rehearse, and then serves as the mic tester at the chorus contest later that morning.

Director: Andrew Carolan

A lifelong singer, Andrew discovered barbershop harmony ten years ago and was hooked – first by the music, then by the community. He has been deeply involved ever since as a director, coach, judge and arranger. Andrew is passionate about making music with like-minded people, and has seen firsthand the positive impact the barbershop artform can have on our communities.

In his native land of Australia, Andrew was Associate Musical Director of Sound Connection, the Australian national men’s chorus champion, and sang baritone with 2014 Pan-Pacific gold medallist quartet The Establishment. Andrew served as a Music judge at contests around Australia and New Zealand, and was the Australasian Music Category Specialist.

Andrew relocated to Kingston, Ontario in 2016, and is currently directing the Kingston Townsmen Chorus and the Greater Kingston Sweet Adelines Chorus.
