While sitting in a convention auditorium watching a contest, have you ever had these thoughts?

"My scores usually track with those of the official panel. I wonder how I'm doing today";
"I plan to apply this fall to become a judge -- it would be great if I could do a practice judging session somewhere to ensure that it's the right path for my barbershop future";

Aces of Harmony barbershop quartet offering Valentine's Day serenades

A local barbershop-style chorus is offering a unique service this Valentine's Day.

Aces of Harmony, a male chorus that sings a cappella four-part harmony, is breaking into quartets to serenade loved ones.

The quartets are available on Feb. 12 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. anywhere in Peterborough.

Dressed in tuxedos, the four-piece harmony will sing a song or two and deliver a rose and personalized Valentine's Day card.

Since the weather has been so cold, it is time to begin thinking of warmer weather. What better way than to enter the Ontario District Spring contest to be held at Global Kingdom Ministries in Scarborough? Entries are now open for the following contests:

  • International Preliminary Quartet Contest
  • Ontario District Seniors Quartet Contest
  • International Preliminary Collegiate Quartet Contest
  • Ontario District Novice Quartet Contest

Ontario Quartet Event - with a twist

The Ontario District is proud to announce another full day of quartetting for quartet wannabe’s to experienced competitive singers. This year’s OQE promises a new format that will make the event even more attractive to experienced quartet singers.  

Here’s a chance to learn some great songs and sing your own part - all by yourself - with 3 others. You might even find the voices for your next quartet. If you’re already in a quartet, this is a perfect opportunity to add 8 new arrangements to your repertoire!

Barbershopper Honoured with Governor General's Award

Doug Procter, former science teacher at Seaforth District High School and 28-year barbershopper, was one of the 30 recipients from across Canada who recieved the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award at the Governor General's residence on October 6, 2015. He was nominated by the Men’s PROBUS Club of Grand Bend where he now resides and served as secretary of the club for the past 11 years. Doug is a member of the Seaforth Harmony Kings barbershop chorus.

Time is running out to register yourself and your group for the upcoming Ontario District Fall Convention in Belleville on October 16, 17, and 18, 2015. Groups must register by September 18th to be eligible to compete in any of the following contests taking place that weekend:
