The Capital City Chorus has been performing in Ottawa , Canada since it was formed in 1957. We are the premier men’s a cappella group in Canada’s Capital. The chorus consists of about 75 active singing members of all ages and performs many styles of a cappella songs: from vaudeville to pop to classic barbershop to movie theme songs. The Capital City Chorus is the Ottawa Chapter in the Ontario District of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and has won the right to represent Ontario District at International competition 5 times. The Chorus has many quartets, some of which have won contests and performed at International.
The men of the Capital City Chorus work hard to raise money for charities, particularly Harmonize for Speech and Sing Canada Harmony. Additionally, each year, the chorus donates time and energy to renovate, build, and maintain buildings for the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa’s – Camp Smitty. The Capital City Chorus, and its’ quartets regularly perform in and around Ottawa in their Spring and Christmas Shows, St. Valentine’s Day Serenades, community events, charity fundraisers and more.
